Who is responsible for your data?

What data do we use, and why?

Processing and delivering your order, handling returns and customer service

Data: name, delivery and billing addresses, email address, phone number if you provide it, order contents.
Legal basis: performance of the contract.
Retention: for the duration of the order and of the statutory guarantees, then archiving.

Keeping our accounts

Data: the order and payment details shown on the invoice.
Legal basis: legal obligation.
Retention: 10 years (French Commercial Code).

Answering your messages

Data: name, email address, message, and order number if you provide it.
Legal basis: legitimate interest (answering your request).
Retention: as long as needed to handle your request.

Reminding you of a basket you did not complete

Data: the email address entered during checkout, basket contents.
Legal basis: legitimate interest (helping you complete a purchase you started), and you can refuse these emails at any time.
Retention: 3 years after the basket.

Sending you offers on products similar to those you bought

Data: email address.
Legal basis: legitimate interest, and you can opt out in every email.
Retention: 3 years after your last purchase.

Sending you our newsletter, if you sign up

Data: email address.
Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link.
Retention: until you unsubscribe, and at most 3 years if you do not open our emails.

Securing payment and preventing fraud

Data: payment details, processed directly by our payment providers. We never see your card number.
Legal basis: legitimate interest and legal obligation.
Retention: as set by the payment provider.

Who receives your data?

Cloudflare, Inc., our hosting provider, to run and secure the website.
Our payment providers: Stripe (card, iDEAL, Bancontact, Klarna, Apple Pay, Google Pay).
Our suppliers and the carriers, only to ship your parcel (name, address, phone number).

We never sell or rent out your data.

International transfers

We may transfer, store and process your data outside the country where you live, with the service providers and suppliers who help us process your order. When one of them is located in a country that the European Commission does not recognise as providing an adequate level of protection, we only share what is needed to fulfil your order.

Your rights

You can ask to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict its use and to receive it in a portable format, and you can object at any time to marketing emails (unsubscribe link in every email, or a simple request to contact@comfy-bath-mat.co.uk). We reply within one month.

If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO, ico.org.uk) or to the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).

Cookies

The website only uses the cookies it needs to work: basket, security and payment. They are not used for advertising or audience measurement, so they do not require your consent. You can block them in your browser, but the basket and payment may then stop working.
